Q: Why are the stats different depending on the program i use?

A: Statistics between the different programs (webalizer, analog and awstats) may not showing the same information. One may show your website had 59 visitors and another program could show that it had 125 visitors.

Why the difference?

Generally speaking, statistics should only be used as a rough indication of how a site is doing. Different programs calculate statistics differently. Webalizer may look at individual IP numbers in order to generate the number of visitors, where as Awstats may simply count the total page loads.

If you need accurate statistics you can download the APACHE RAW LOGS from your control panel and use a program such as Urchin or Web Position Gold or other log analysis tool which may show different information than those included in cPanel.
