New Domains:Via XDnet:When you purchase a domain from XDnet you nameservers will automatically be setup to point to XDnet's Name Servers. Via another domain seller:If you purchase a new domain from another domain seller, you must change your nameservers to XDnet's, while each domain registrar will have a different user control panel, most are similar, first find the domain you wish to modify, once selected there should be an option to modify name servers change them to: ns1.xdnet.co.uk ns2.xdnet.co.uk You can also transfer the domain to XDnet, where you can manage the domain through your client panel (details below), transfers are free for .uk domains, and transfers for other domains include renewal and cost the same as new registration. XDnet can manage your domain for you, this includes making Name server, contact info and other administrative changes to your domain. We offer this service for £5 per domain change OR £10/yr (per domain) this option includes UNLIMITED domain updates. Transfers:When transferring domains to XDnet, the nameservers may need updating, however you should wait for the domain to fully transfer before doing this to avoid issues (usually takes 24-48 hours MAX). You will be able to update your name servers via the client area (details below). .UK Transfers:.UK domains cannot be transfered automatically and require manual actions from both XDnet and yourself, if you wish to transfer a .UK domain to XDnet take a look at our Knowledge Base article on how to! How to change DNS Name Servers from the XDnet Client Area:After you have successfully logged into the XDnet Client Area, you should see a "My Domains" link on the navigation. Here you can view a list of all your domains managed by XDnet.
Select the one which you need to change the Name Server and click the "View Details" button. (as shown above) On the next page you can view all the information about your domain, and you will also see a form half way down the page like the one shown below, where you can see the current nameservers and also enter new ones.
Once the Nameservers are changed click save changes. Assuming the new nameservers are neither invalid or the same as the current ones the changes will be submitted to the registry and propagation will begin, this process should take between a few minutes to 48 hours to complete, and once complete your domain will point to the correct server.
