Almost every webmaster wants, if not needs to know how their website is doing and how many people are actually looking at it.

Possibly the easiest way is to use Web analytics tools, which come with your hosting packages, such as Awstats and Webalizer which can be found in your cPanel under "Logs"

These applications such as Awstats will produce detailed reports for given time periods and shows hits, locations of your visitors, connection speeds, browser and user OS types and many more details which can help you know and understand you users.

Another way is to use a remote website thats purpose is to monitor other websites. Google Analytics is one of these tools.
