You can easily create a wildcard subdomain/DNS, without having to edit the Apache Config by using cPanel.

Navigate to the subdomain icon.

Here you now add the subdomain "*" (without the quotes).

This will now add a DNS wildcard so any subdomain on your domain will display your main website.

However if you wish to simply redirect any invalid subdomains to the main domain you can edit the subdomain and make it a redirect.

Click "Manage Redirection"

Now you can enter your main domain and click "save".

Now users who visit an invalid subdomain are automatically redirected to your main domain.
