Often, particularly in admin/system directories you will not have an index file in a directory. This means, by default, when someone browses the folder it will display a full listing of all the files in the directory. This could poitentially pose a security risk, and means people can nose at your files.

You can easily prevent this, without creating a blank index file, by adding the following to the .htaccess file to stop directory listings showing.
