My servers gone down - What do I do?

When your server appears to have gone down, or stopped responding there is a few things you should try before contacting support.

Check what does and doesn't work.

Check if Apache has gone down - Does it display any webpages?
Check if cPanel is responding - Can you login to WHM / cPanel?
Check if SSH is responding - Does SSH respond when you try to connect using SSH (eg. PuTTy etc)

If some things work and you can access cPanel/WHM try to restart the services which are not responding.

If you can't access cPanel/WHM or restarting services by WHM doesn't work, try restarting services using SSH.

If you are using a VPS and SSH doesn't work you can try forcibly rebooting the server using the Virtualisation Container - eg. Virtuozzo.

If none of the above works please get in contact with support via Live Chat, or opening a support ticket at Tech@xdnet.co.uk, please ensure you provide full details about what isn't working, when it started and your root password so we can try and get your server back online ASAP.
