Q: What is a Domain Name?

A: Domain names identify an IP address(es), because IP addresses are hard for humans to remember so we use a domain name to provide a user "friendly" name which is (hopefully) easy to remember, this is then resolved to an IP address, and there for a server for which the website is stored on.
