How do I know how many listeners I have?
| Q: How do i know how many listeners i have? A: It's Easy! Just check your SHOUTcast control which you can access via the IP and port provided on account set up (eg. http://123.123.123.123:8000) or often XDnet will provide a friendly url for your ip such as MyRadio.xdnet.co.uk (so you would access http://myradio.xdnet.co.uk:8000)
Listeners: the total listeners is the total connections which is reciving your stream, you should note that this isn't exact as you cant tell if they are in the room, or if they might have muted the stream. Unique Listeners: If you open multiple connections under the same ip, eg. if your using a hub, router or LAN you are probably sharing the same IP so if more than one person is listening or recieving the stream it will still count as one unique listener (but will still count for X listeners). Listener Peak: This is the most listeners at one time, you should note that when you make changes which restart the server this information is lost so tou restart at 0. Note: 8000 is an example port and often you will be provided with a different port number. |
